Triumphal Arch

Located right in the city center, next to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Triumphal Arch is one of the most visited and beloved landmarks in Chișinău. Built in 1840, this elegant white stone monument commemorates the Russian army’s victory in the Russo-Turkish War and holds a remarkable story: the bell originally installed inside the arch was cast from captured enemy cannons. Though modest in size, the Triumphal Arch impresses with its classical simplicity and symbolic location – serving as a popular meeting point for locals and a must-see spot for visitors.
