Zamfirachi Ralli’s Mansion

Zamfirachi Ralli’s Mansion

Zamfirachi Ralli’s Mansion, located in the village of Dolna in Strășeni district, is one of Moldova’s most valuable boyar residences, built in the early 19th century by the Ralli family of Greek origin. The mansion became famous due to its connection with Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, who spent the summer of 1821 there and, inspired by the picturesque landscapes and an encounter with a gypsy camp, wrote the poem “The Gypsies.”

Later transformed into a memorial house, the estate preserves the atmosphere of the time, featuring authentic furniture and exhibitions dedicated to both the Ralli family and Pushkin. Surrounded by a landscaped park and located near Zamfira’s Spring, the site offers a unique cultural and natural experience and is a key landmark on Moldova’s literary and historical tourism map.
