Sofia Museum of History and Ethnography
In Sofia village, Drochia District, the Museum of History and Ethnography preserves the story of the locality and the Hasnaș boyar family. It was founded on 9 May 1981 and, since 1990, has operated in the Hasnaș manor house, built in 1848.
The building is itself a heritage landmark. In its 13 exhibition rooms, visitors can discover traces of the Cucuteni–Trypillia civilisation, restored vessels, boyar objects, photographs of local personalities, icons, old books, ethnographic collections and traditional costume. The museum also hosts activities through which children rediscover village traditions.
