”Duminica Mare” festival

”Duminica Mare” festival

On ”Duminica Mare” festival ( Pentecost Sunday), the village of Domulgeni becomes the host of an authentic Moldovan traditions festival, held in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Răut River. Between 12:00 and 13:00, guests are welcomed at the entrance to the village and guided along a tourist route that passes through the community’s emblematic sites, culminating in the central festival area, located in the heart of the old village.

The festival offers an open program for all lovers of ethnofolkloric traditions, crafts, and local gastronomy. At the Gastronomic Fair, local hosts present traditional dishes prepared using time-honored recipes, with a special highlight on Domulgeni’s cured meats — known as some of the tastiest and most unique in the country — which visitors can also purchase to take home.

At the Crafts Fair, folk artisans exhibit and sell authentic traditional handmade items. This year’s edition will also feature a special exhibition of ritual bread, baked in traditional ovens according to ancient local customs.

The festive atmosphere is enriched by the ethnofolkloric performance “Traditions from Easter to Pentecost”, presented by folk ensembles from the Florești district — a celebration of Moldovan customs, rituals, and folk music.

”Duminica Mare” fest in Domulgeni is a heartfelt invitation to reconnect with our cultural roots — we warmly welcome you!
